Thanksgiving Break

A reminder to SJCS Families we will be closed for Thanksgiving Break on Wednesday 11/25, Thursday 11/26, and Friday 11/27/09.

Blue Jean Friday & Tuesday

Tomorrow, Friday, November 20, 2009 will be a Blue Jean Friday.  Students are permitted to wear appropriate fitting blue jeans, blue jean shorts, and blue jean skirts with school spirit wear or uniform tops.  NO boots, moccasins, or flip flops.  We have also decided that Tuesday, 11/24/09 will be designated as Blue Jean Tuesday to celebrate Thanksgiving.  Students again are permitted to wear SJCS Spiritwear shirts or school uniform sweatshirts and shirts with the appropriate blue jean pants, shorts, or skirts.  NO boots, moccasins, or flip flops.

 Children’s Festival

Tuesday is the annual Children's Festival. Please send quarters or $1 bills with your child on Tuesday, so they can play games and buy presents from the boutique. (We will not have change for large bills.) Everything is 25 cents except the Santa pictures. Pictures with Santa are 75 cents. Please send an empty shopping bag with your child's name on it for them to put their goodies in!

 Picture Retakes

We have scheduled picture retakes for Monday, November 23, 2009 at 10:00 a.m.    There are envelopes available in the school office if you need one to purchase a package.  For retakes just bring in the photos you have already had taken.

 8th Grade Placement Testing

Just a reminder to parents concerning 8^th grade placement testing.  The test will be held at Badin this upcoming Saturday 11/21/09 at 8:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m.  If your child is not available to take the test on Saturday, they can sign up for the second date on Tuesday 12/1/09 at 8:00 a.m.  For students to be eligible for academic scholarships they need to take the test either one of these dates.  Please contact Nancy Gersbach at 513-863-3993 ext 111 to register.

Operation Christmas Child

PTO would like to remind you that your shoebox for Operation Christmas Child must be turned in at school no later than Thursday, November 19th at 2:45 pm. We will be dropping these boxes off at a collection point on that day so any late boxes WILL NOT BE DELIVERED. Thanks for your help with this great service project:

Scrips gift cards

GOOD NEWS, YOU CAN STILL ORDER YOUR GIFT CARDS: The demand for Scrips gift cards has been so great that we are adding a second order: We will be sending home another order form and a paper copy of the entire list of cards available this Thursday with your kids! Orders will be due in by December 4th and your cards will be available for pick up at the Christmas Program on December 16th, just in time for Christmas!!
