SJCS School Closing Information

In case of early morning inclement weather or calamity, parents should watch Channel 12 for information regarding school closings or delays.  You may also check their web site at http://www.local12.com.   Even if the station does not specifically mention St. Joseph Consolidated School, if either the Hamilton or Ross School Districts close, St. Joseph will be closed also.  If the weather is bad, children should never be dropped off at school without making sure school is in session since no supervision will be available.

If St. Joseph Consolidated School is on a delay it will be posted on Channel 12 or their web site http://www.local12.com.  In the case of delayed bus pick up please simply follow the time of your home school district.  If you wish to bring your children to school earlier than your district delay time please ensure there is staff at school.    Sometimes if a school is on a delayed schedule they will close.  If your child(ren) are at school in this circumstance, we will notify you concerning transportation home.

If weather should turn bad during the course of the school day and school dismisses early, parents should listen to the local radio or television stations for information.  We will attempt to send an all school email when districts close.  We will only call those parents listed on our Emergency Phone Chain.   Please devise a plan with your child(ren) in case school should dismiss early.  St. Joseph Consolidated School works with eight bus systems to transport students.  If only one system dismisses early, children not using that district’s buses will be dismissed from school at the usual time.  If we cannot contact you via the Emergency Phone Chain we will not allow your child(ren) to leave the building.
