Curriculum and Special Programs
At St Joseph Consolidated School, students are offered a comprehensive education including religion, reading, English, spelling, handwriting, mathematics, social studies, computer, science, health and safety, music, art and physical education.
ACCELERATED READING: SJCS stresses the importance of reading through it's Accelerated Reading Program. Children are required to read age appropriate quantities and levels of books, and are awarded for their success in meeting or exceeding their goals.
ACCELERATED MATH: At SJCS children are encouraged to develop their skills in math through the Accelerated Math Program. Math is taught at the same time in all class rooms, which allows children to attend the class teaching their current math level. Children move up or down according to their abilities.
LD INSTRUCTION: SJCS employs a full time Learning Disability Instructor.
GRANDPARENT READING: SJCS enlists the help of our parishoners (mostly grandparents) who volunteer to help our younger kids with thier reading.
